Kelsey Collins is a multi-talented singer/songwriter whose take on life and love is often charmingly skewed. Raised in a small town in Mississippi on a diet of Nirvana, Regina Spektor, The Who and Bright Eyes, she has now emerged as a musical force on her own with a voice that is both unique and compelling.
She always enjoyed singing and started writing songs at the age of ten while spending her spare time at her grandmother's small town grocery store. Most of her songs are stories. On how Nirvana helped shape her musically she writes," I like how Nirvana had a dark sound and how you really have to pay attention to the lyrics."
She is a regular on the festival and music scene in North Mississippi. She has won the following awards:> 2012 CDAF Songwriter's Competition Winner > 2013 CDAF Songwriter's Competition Top-3 Finalist > 2014 CDAF Songwriter's Competition Top-3 Finalist
