2025 Poster Reveal
Presented by the Starkville Area Arts Council (SAAC) and the Cotton District Arts Festival (CDAF) Committee, we are excited to bring this historic festival back to the Cotton District this spring, highlighting the tremendous talent of local and regional artisans, local food vendors and food trucks, and musicians. This CDAF is sure to packed full of fun arts activities for all ages.
The CDAF Committee is excited to reveal the Official #CDAF2025 poster, chosen over a dozen student submissions to our annual contest in Mississippi State University graphic design classes taught by Suzanne Powney. Congratulations to the 2025 Cotton District Arts Festival poster competition winning artist, Bryce Yzaguirre! The festival is set for April 19, 2025, from 9 am to 3 pm in the historic Cotton District. This year marks the first year the festival will move back to the third Saturday in April annually. The CDAF Committee and SAAC Board of Directors have worked very hard to make this first festival back in the spring the best version of CDAF yet. We've reorganized the layout to suit the changes happening in the Cotton District and work with Easter weekend events. Applications to be a part of this year's festival are open right now. Navigate to the applications tab to learn more and apply. For questions about the festival, feel free to contact us. |

About this design...
"My design process often begins by connecting the project I'm working on to a previous experience, source of inspiration, or idea, whether it's a film, a piece of art, or something else that sparks my creativity. I take this inspiration and experiment with various ways to interpret and innovate upon the idea. Once I establish a clear direction for the design, I use different mediums and programs to bring it to life. For example, when creating my poster design for the Cotton District Arts Festival, I knew from the start that I wanted to craft a highly detailed, maximalist design. Achieving the right balance between being visually engaging without feeling overwhelming required many iterations. Ultimately, I arrived at a version that successfully captured my goal: a vibrant, maximalist poster that brings together the festival's themes of art, music, and food."
