Creating our jewelry involves developing innovative designs and turning them into original artisan jewelry. While our own unique styles are reflected in each piece, we use the same techniques (sawing, piercing, riveting, soldering, bezeling, casting, forging, enameling, etching, achieving patina with various methods) and regularly attend classes to learn new techniques. The jewelry is usually silver or copper with natural gemstones such as larimar, lapis, agate, kyonite, and others. The pendants are enhanced by leather, macrame or metal chains often with handmade clasps. We have enjoyed learning and growing together after meeting at a small festival 10 years ago.

A+K Saves the Day is a jewelry business where we make the jewelry pieces that people wish they could find in boutiques. Our business is a shared partnership between Kate Wittu and me, Addie Melchior. We are roommates who saw a need in our community for trendy and fair priced jewelry and jumped at the opportunity. We spend most nights coming up with ideas for new jewelry pieces and creating them to showcase on social media pages. We offer hand-made necklaces, earrings, and rings and have recently started making yarn wall hangings that we are hoping to showcase at the craft fair. We also do custom orders for any customers that have a vision in their head and want to see it made into a reality. We use materials from Amazon, Etsy, and Hobby Lobby to make our merchandise. Our merchandise is sold at very reasonable prices that our customers, so far, have really appreciated. Necklaces typically cost $12 depending on the type of chain and the number of charms added and earrings and rings have a set price at $10 for earrings and $25 for our rings. We can be reached through our Instagram page @ohhhoneybyak or on our Facebook page A+K Saves the Day.

My work falls under the category of jewelry, but more specifically, I specialize in designing earrings. Kelly Quick

Carthage, MS

Picture
With my first skill being a visual artist (painter), I incorporate line design aesthetics into my creations. I hand-make each piece using 14k gold filled and 14k solid gold chains. Each piece is carefully designed with a specific look and lay in mind. Some pieces are encompassed with glass crystals while some use variations of textured chains. My newest work is my hand-painted earrings. They are made from brass, with shapes cut out and then sanded and primed. Earrings are then painted with enamel paint and after appropriate drying time, pieces are sealed and attached to a yellow gold hook.
