I have a wide variety of different techniques I use on different forms of art. My main areas are wood working, acrylic pour, and resin. In wood working I specialize in custom wood burned portraits with laser engraving as well as building shelving and tables. When painting I enjoy working with fluid art on canvas or wood and combining with resin to give my art work a high quality finish. I apply these abstract techniques to coasters, serving trays, canvas and even some table tops. My work has a unique twist because no painting I do is identical to another one due to the methods I use. I enjoy combining these different forms of art to create one of a kind pieces.

Olive Branch, MS

Picture
Down South Shabby offers had painted art /home decor featuring angels, churches, crosses and floral using acrylic paints, plaster & caulk to create texture & depth on a variety of wood, including salvaged wood ~ barn & pallet wood. My favorite wood to paint on is chippy, old wood because of it's character and age-old texture. Repurposed wood such as salvaged chair & fence spindles are used to make angels, wreath holder and/or spindle stand farmhouse decor. Copper wire, yarn, upholstery tacks and cabinet knobs are used also for creating a mixed media effect and/or for embellishing the items. I love the excitement of making something new and decorative from salvaged items. Lanterns are made from using salvaged plant stakes and dry brushed with latex paint or their natural color.
