I make wire jewelry, using copper or sterling silver wire wrap and wire weaving techniques. I do not use soldering techniques in my work, and my pieces are one of a kind. I make pendants, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings using natural gemstones from all over the world or Swarovski crystals. My jewelry is inspired by my travels across the globe; many of the gemstones that I use I have picked up on my travels to places like Vienna, Istanbul, and Melbourne, Australia.
The pieces I have include are called Shout Fire, Parisian ladder bracelet, brown agate woven pendant, Freya's tear, and green quartz pendant.
Shout Fire is made of woven copper wired with moonstone, agate, sunstone, and other stones. The Parisian ladder bracelet is based on a design I once say in Paris. It is made of beading wire, sterling silver wire, moonstones, and peridot. The brown agate pendant is an agate cabochon surrounded by a handwoven sterling silver bezel. Freya's tears is a necklace employing sterling silver wire and chain, and amber nuggets and beads. Finally, the green quartz pendant is a green quartz gemstone in a handmade prong sterling silver prong setting.

Debra Farley

#168

Picture
Debra Farley has always had a love for antiques and boutique style jewelry. While in college she started making her own jewelry and selling it right off herself. As she finished getting her degree in education, she began to to set up at local art and craft festivals along with large antique markets. While working the antique markets she made many connections for her vintage finds. Such as antique lace, vintage postcards and antique dolls along with broken china shards. Debra is a self taught artist of 28 years and her techniques started with a stained glass background. She uses silver solder that is just for jewelry. She is now working in mixed metals creating bezels with torch soldering work.
Debra has always had a touch for creating a style that is heirloom quality. Doing custom orders with customers own lace and vintage pieces. She creates a whole look down to her booth display. Her customers just love to visit with her and her husband in their award winning display that shows Debra’s jewelry off in the perfect setting.
Debra’s work is very feminine with a little bit of an edgy feel.

We use the beauty of natural, polished, stones from around the world, and enhance them with our own design work out of wire to produce one-of-a-kind jewelry. The majority of our works are pendants, which are perfect for showcasing each stone. We sometimes string a pendant onto a necklace that may include natural stone beads. In order to meet customer requests for sets, we also may offer bracelets and earrings to coordinate with a pendant or necklace. Clients tell us our works are unique!

Back Roads by 2 Sisters is a Mississippi owned business and partnership. We are sisters, best friends, diehard rockhounds that specialize in Lapidary Jewelry. Our jewelry stands out be cause we hand collect our stones, gems and minerals. Every step of our process is handmade, not bought.
Meet our team:
Christy Massey masters the art of classic, clean wire wrapped cabochons. The stones are hand collected, cut and polished into free form cabs. Artistically wrapped with the highest quality sterling silver, copper and or brass wire. I believe in clean lines and feel the wire should be the frame, the cabochon the focal point. My jewelry is unique from the first to the last piece. As are the customers who buy them.

Melissa Hill creates unique one of a kind cabochons. I enjoy putting multiple stones together to build depth and contrast. My passions are Intarsia, stone on stone designs and the lost art of Native American Inlay. It all starts with the stories the stones want to tell. The design is created and pieces are cut with a precise specialty ring saw and polished on a Genie. As the Silversmith of the two, with a Master class, invitation only, coming up in March, the cabs are then set in sterling silver or gold. Jewelry that includes Intarsia or stone-on-stone work are set in traditional soldered bezel style settings.

Stone on stone requires sterling silver tubing soldered onto the base of a smaller bezel set cabochon. Then the tubing is places through a coordinating drilled hole of the bottom cab. The stones become one an are set like the first.

Le Petit Bijou was established in 2012 and has been featured at many festivals from Louisiana over to Georgia. Some of the shows that I have been a part of are: The Cotton District Arts Festival, the Druid City Arts Festival, Canton MS Flea Market, Mandeville Trailhead Market, Birmingham Punk Rock Flea Market, the 5th Street Vintage Market, the Fayette Arts Festival, Christmas on the River, Tuscaloosa Volks Festival, Fiddle Fest, Homestead Hollow Festival, and the Vicksburg Old Festival Market.

The majority of the jewelry designed are hand-sewn bohemian wrap bracelets on genuine leather. The closure for each piece is a vintage or reclaimed button. Each piece created is a one-of-a-kind design. No two bracelets are alike. Some of the designs featured are single, double, triple and quadruple wrap bracelets. I also design leather cuffs as well as cuff wrap bracelets. The jewelry I design is very unique and not like most other jewelry.

I love to work with my hands and create pieces that are both beautiful and that will last a lifetime. Although I use many other materials, I find I love working with coins, they are something everyone can connect with whether it’s a piece of jewelry made with a coin the year you were born or state quarter to remind you of home. I’m sorry I didn’t go into more detail, especially the rings. It is a hard process to explain, but everything you see at my shows are handmade and made by me, as always I make hundreds of different things from braided silver bracelets to earrings, to the use of real gemstones to wrenches, keys, whatever. I love to create unique pieces.
